Our Story
John Willett is a young enthusiastic lawyer who has chalked up 1000’s of hours experience both inside and outside of the courtroom.
His particular skillset and experience sees him naturally gravitate towards family law cases but he personally boasts many wins in all areas of law.
In 2012 John started practicing law at a well established law firm in his hometown of Maryborough on Queensland’s Fraser Coast. It was here that he had the privilege of gaining valuable experience with a broad range of cases that allowed him to develop his very unique skillset.
Over these first few years, John had the opportunity to run 100’s of cases including family law, traffic offences, domestic violence, family mediation and criminal cases, just to name a few.
During this formative period as a lawyer, John started to notice that there was a need for lawyers to help their clients with a more genuine care and concern, to listen carefully to the circumstances surrounding the client’s story before offering advice.

After having worked under some of Australia’s top legal professionals and gaining valuable experience, John felt that it was time to take the next step in his career.
“In order to serve my clients to the best of my ability, I felt that opening my own legal practice was going to be the best way to help my clients effectively.”
John Willett Lawyers was launched in Maryborough’s Wharf Street precinct in 2019 with a new energy and a fresh vision. The vision was to serve the community with the many skills and experience that John had gained over the years and to put into practice many of the ideas that he had for a law firm.

After operating for these few short years, we have developed a personal approach to each individual who walks through our door.
